In a 1999 study done at the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Pennsylvania State University, a "significant improvement" was found for the ErgoSafe handle, as compared with a traditional stamp handle.

The study found that the ErgoSafe handles resulted in 76% lower finger forces, 35% lower wrist motions, and 64% lower wrist accelerations.
